What is the Teton Free Clinic?

The Teton Free Clinic provides free primary medical care for the low income, uninsured & medically underserved people, of all walks of life, who live or work in the Jackson Hole area. Since our inception in 2003, we've been treating 25-30 patients each week. The clinic is mostly staffed by the generous help of volunteer physicians, nurses and community volunteers who share in the vision that everyone should be able to see a doctor regardless of their ability to pay.

Can free medical care have a positive impact on our community?

Without the Teton Free Clinic, a significant portion of our community would not get needed health care. Instead they wait for a crisis and go to the emergency room which is the most expensive form of health care delivery, adding up to higher health care costs in our community.

Health care insurance policies are expensive and are often cost prohibitive to many businesses-especially in Jackson where many workers are only employed seasonally. The number of seasonal workers treated every week is rising and makes up a significant portion of our patient population.

Who can receive free medical care?

Patient eligibility is determined at the initial visit. Patients must bring the following to the initial clinic visit: proof of residence in Teton County, WY (such as utility bill) or proof of employment in Teton County, WY (paycheck stub or W2 Form), proof of income and picture ID. Please bring a completed Patient Intake Form to your first visit. If it is determined that a patient is eligible to receive health services from another program, the patient will be referred to that program in our community. Patients who have Medicare, Medicaid, Worker's Compensation or other health insurance are not eligible for services offered by the Teton Free Clinic.

What services are available?

- Primary health care services, adult and pediatric
- Laboratory and blood drawing
- Radiology Services
- Prescriptions
- Referrals to other community resources

How is the Teton Free Clinic funded?

Our services and expenses are privately funded and this funding is vulnerable without a strong and stable investor base. The clinic receives donations through Old Bill's Fun Run and through private donors. The volunteers of Teton Free Clinic work diligently to seek funding through grants, local businesses, organizations, and private donations. We're working hard, but we need financial support to meet increasing patient demand. By contributing, you ensure that the clinic remains open to all who need care.

It's vital we act now so that our entire community stays as healthy and productive as possible. You may send your donation to our mailing address. Donations in-kind and of services are also appreciated. All donations are tax deductible to the extent provided by law.
